What is a Line Array?

It seems like one of the most popular speaker configurations on the market today is a line array setup!  But what exactly is a line array?  A line array is a loudspeaker system that is made up of a number of usually identical loudspeaker elements mounted in a line and fed in phase, to create a near-line of sound. The distance between adjacent drivers is close enough that they constructively interfere with each other to send sound waves farther than traditional horn-loaded loudspeakers and with a more evenly distributed sound output pattern.

Since Dill Audio is an authorized QSC dealer, we would like to share the video below to explain things a little better!  The KLA Series by QSC brings the power and sophistication of a line array system into an easy-to-use product significantly redefining the line array product category.

A line array system is not for everyone or for every situation, but has proven to a very strong consideration for many of today’s church sound needs!  Let us know if you have more questions or would like more information about why a line array setup may be right for your church or auditorium!
